About reflexology

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a gentle, hands-on complementary therapy. I apply pressure to specific points on your feet. Most people use a session as an hour of rest and time for themselves.

What is Duopody?

Duopody is the reflexology method I trained in. I work on both feet at the same time, instead of one foot after the other.

Does it hurt?

No, it shouldn't. Some points can feel more sensitive than others. Tell me whenever you'd like lighter or firmer pressure, and I'll adjust straight away.

Can reflexology treat my condition?

No. Reflexology is a complementary therapy. It does not diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions and does not replace medical care. Please keep seeing your GP or specialist for any health concerns. Because of my nursing background, I'll ask about your health before we start, and I'll tell you if I think you should check something with your GP first.

Your session

What happens during the first session?

Your first session takes 1 hour 15 minutes, at the same price as a regular session. We start with a short conversation about how you're doing, your general health and what you'd like from the session. Then you sit back in the recliner chair and I start the reflexology.

Do I need to undress?

No. You stay fully dressed. You only take off your shoes and socks.

Why a recliner chair and not a massage table?

A recliner is easier to get into and out of, and many people find it more comfortable and less exposed than lying on a table. You can sit up a bit or lean back further, whatever feels best.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes, preferably trousers you can roll up a little above the ankle.

Do I have to talk during the session?

Not at all. Some people like to chat, others prefer silence or fall asleep. Both are completely fine.

Neurodivergent clients

I'm autistic or have ADHD. Is reflexology suitable for me?

Everyone is welcome, and I pay extra attention to neurodivergent clients. You don't have to explain or mask. We decide together on light, sound, pressure and how much we talk. You can take a break or stop at any time.

Can I know exactly what will happen beforehand?

Yes. Just ask, and I'll explain the session step by step before you come. During the session, I'll tell you before I start and before I move on to something new.

Can someone come with me?

Yes, you're welcome to bring someone you trust.
